Research Sites, Notable Sites, and Christian Search engines on the Internet

One thing the internet is exceptionally helpful for is research. It is truly aworldwide library. You can literally find "something about anything". This canbe it's downfall too. For the new web surfer the volume of information and seemingly lackof organization can be overwhelming.

This article will give you some basic direction on three categories of internet locations;Research sites and Notable Christian sites. It should be noted that unless otherwisestated, the author has no affiliation with the site.

First things first. Start with the librarian. Ask her for what you arelooking for. She is also known as a Search Engine. Learn a few of them and use them. Theplace to start surfing. There are about a dozen of them.

Next, ask people you know for sites that have what you might be lookingfor. This is known as a Links page. These pages are on almost every site you visit on theinternet. Links pages are simply hyperlinks to another site. If you doubleclick on thelink you will be taken there. This is an easy way to get lost on the internet (and havefun). Hot Tip: point to the link and click on it with your right mouse button. Choose'open in new window' and a new browser window will open, leaving the previous websitewindow still active on your computer. (look at the task bar)
Your computer will handle numerous browser windows open at one time.

Then, visit notable sites and enjoy them. Save sites you visit and wantto return to as a 'favorite' or a 'bookmark'.  To do this, click on your browsersfile menu at the top. Choose
either Bookmark or Favorites. Then choose Add.  Next time you surf, you can click onyour Favorites or Bookmarks icon and click on the site you want to travel to.

There. Now you can find what you want, what is useful, and not be lost incyberspace.
