First Nations Music Outreach to Bishop Paiute & Shoshone Tribes - March 20 by Pastor Mark, 6 April 2005 |
March 16, 2005 Wednesday evening Bishop CA - Rain Songs conducted an evening of worship in the style of Native American flutes, rattles, and drums. It was well attended by the Anglo community as well as leaders from the Paiute tribe. All were treated to a greater understanding of the native culture and their view of Christianity. It was roundly felt to be a new beginning in attempting to create relationships between communities and to walk the path of peace together.

Bishop, CA - You may have heard of the 10/40 window - a spiritual band of countries near the equator that are closed or hostile to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Recently, God has opened the window and Pastors Mark and Ernie jumped through it.

We are covering large areas of rural villages in our mission travels. Our first week is not quite over and we are astounded at the fruit. We have visited more than 20 churches and had a church service in each one. We have led more than 200 people to Jesus throughout these church visits. A number of these conversions have been one person at a time during a home visit and it seems each church has between 2 and 15 people come forward. The family of God making up the three percent is growing. Read more |
